Two new gadgets are aimed at collecting bottle caps and making it much easier to get rid of them in a civilized way. The first is a bottle opener/cap catcher designed by Stefano Di Lollo. Taking on the approximate shape of a bottle itself, this clever device pries off bottle caps and immediately drops them into the waiting chamber.

“Keep caps contained and backyards clean with Trudeau’s Bottle Cap Catcher Opener. This bottle opener easily opens pops, catches and stores caps from glass beer or pop bottles. The practical design lets guests open drinks while disposing of the cap. The clear acrylic body hold up to 30 caps and the soft touch removable base allows you to swiftly dispose the collected caps. Clear/Black. Dishwasher safe. Lifetime warranty. “

The Cap-Trap also comes with a belt clip, letting you take it with you wherever you go. But if you’re at home, it also sticks to the fridge with a magnet.
