Reaching into the sink to start cleaning can be a dangerous proposition – did you drop a knife in earlier? What if you catch that fork you can’t quite see in just the wrong way?
Thus the concept of a cutlery that floats instead of slipping past larger items and sinking to the bottom – easy to grab, wash and get out of the way as you work toward the larger items left to clean.
Designer Seongyong Lee likes things that are simple but require work, functional and attractive, balanced between hand craft and mass production. Here, there is a balance between using and cleaning – the central floating nob is also designed to make it easier to hold and eat with utensils, particularly for people who have difficulty gripping due to age or other disabilities.
