The above chair is aptly named ‘Centaur’ after the mythical half-man, half-beast. Likewise a creature of both worlds, the sharp-angled, folded-metal seat and support structure sit in stark contrast to the free-form arrangement of bamboo sticks. These jut out to make a naturally flexible back that bends under pressure.

Even highly-traditional, wicker-style chaise lounges, enclosed seats and oval ottomans end up bent, twisted and transformed in their hands, looking more like alien life forms than conventional furniture forms – a unique mix of contemporary and timeless.
