Morphing Chair Conforms to Your Changing Comfort Needs

We’ve all struggled at times to find the most comfortable sitting position in a chair. Designer Kirsi Enkovaara eliminates that problem with her uniquely customizable chair which she calls The Body.

The chair is six meters long overall and made of a canvas material stuffed with rice. The semi-rigid structure allows you to mold the chair into a position that is comfortable for you – and then it stays in that position.

The designer encourages us to move away from “learned cultural norms” like how to sit in a chair and instead listen to our own bodies tell us which position is most comfortable.

Endlessly moldable and re-shapable, the Body encourages users to find comfort and security in any way position (and their bodies) desire.
