A curved mound camouflaged in the surrounding landscape, it is no accident that this addition is almost invisible next to the warm and cozy, century-old cottage structure it sits next to (and somewhat below).

A concrete bunker-like space was created by VisionDivision designers to extend the floor plan of the original residence without compromising its appearance in the process. Limited light is allowed in via small skylight openings on the ceiling and an overhung entry projects on one side.

It is almost like a modern hunter’s blind integrated into a house, though without the deadly connotations for surrounding woodland creatures. Leisure and community activities (living room, dining room, large-tub bathroom, etc… ) are focused in the additional spaces in order to take advantage of lake views as well as potential wildlife passing by (and lounging, trotting or flying above).
