The tale of Red Riding Hood conjures images of a helpless lass and a great beast luring her in, but the story (at least in some variants) has a hero as well with a trusty wood-cutting weapon.

Duffy London (images by Tom Oxley Photography) has produced a console table that combines woodworking with weaponry as well, made of solid hickory axes from the United States with polished heads.

At over four thousand dollars the piece does not come cheap – for that price, one might hope the axes could be removed and wielded when the need arises to defend one’s home or at least chop a tree in the backyard.
