Rolling stones in riverbeds become rounded and smooth over time, softened yet hard. The same natural tension is captured in this staircase design.

Like large weathered rocks, each smooth pedal radiates out from the core – concrete polished to perfection. A steel railing wraps around, entirely detached from the staircase at all points.

Though this exhibit piece by Roberto Semprini for Edilco  is actually a stairway-to-nowhere, it makes a compelling and simple point: decor objects can also be art.
