Some viewers will cry the designer equivalent of ‘sacrilegious!’ Others may see an inspired artistic interpretation of a modern classic – subversive and humorous remakes-with-mods crafted from Eero Saarinens world-famous, creative and colorful office chair designs. After all, imitation (or perhaps derivation) is the highest form of flattery, right?

A few liberties were taken in these redesigns but it is easy to see how someone could mistake the voids in the lower back area of the originals for the mouths of monsters or the beginnings of an alien face. In this case, designer Tricky was motivated to exaggerate what he saw in unique and creative ways – unfortunately, you cannot buy a Monstrotype (yet).
