Somewhere between a dry-erase board and a snugly stuffed toy rests one very strange idea: a writable pillow you can draw on (erasable, too!). Drop a note to a family member or sleeping lover, or sketch a scene to spook them when they wake.

According to its designer, Margui Mora, you won’t have to worry about waking up with ink on your face, since it requires cold water to wash away words before you start writing anew – still, it might be worth testing that theory on someone else first.

It comes in a few colors, too, but all are made for dark-on-light writing. Red gets attention, yellow looks a bit like an overstuffed Post-It Note and white is a natural default, recalling regular ruled paper and whiteboards.
