Starting with a blank walll

Feeling dark? Switch from colorful rainbow patterns to a pitch black surface in seconds. Want a bit of a flavorful accent? Spin the wheels again to display words or patterns of your choice. This ingenious pixel-perfect wall design renders paint redundant.

Design possibilities

Amirkhan Abdurakhmanov (better known as Amirko) has come up with this simple but dynamic wall decor idea for transforming an ordinary surface into a do-it-yourself design canvas that lets you set the tone (or tones) depending on your mood.

The solution is simple when every “tile” in the wall is actually a prism capable of showing a different face on demand in varying colors. Then, computer controls allow you to create and implement any (pixelated) design you can dream up. The result is graphic, fun and temporary, so you can change it for events or just when you feel like it.

“Ever-changing wallnado! That’s another name for this product that I just made up! I mean the name, that is, this concept was designed by the incomparable Amirko, and it’s real name is ‘Change It!’ Ohh scoop it! It’s one big wall of turn-triangles. Each of these triangles has different colors on them – white – black – and a slightly unique rainbow shade. As you can see in the first picture here, when the color is on full blast, it makes a mural all it’s own.”

“What combination of madness can be made? Choose your own adventure! For now it’s the colors as explained above. In the future it might have any number of different choices for the sides – lights, materials, typography, body parts, animal fur, whatever!”
