Your smartphone is an extension of yourself, but it’s not very social. You can change that with the Smartphone Projector. This little, lo-fi portable camera allows users to project images or videos from their cell phone through a glass lens onto a smooth white surface such as a blank wall. And voilà, you have a private screening for family and friends.

The fun little DIY gadget from Luckies of London is made of cardboard and requires assembly, which takes about an hour. It works with iOS and Android and Windows compatible smart phones, and mobiles up to a maximum size of 8cm x 14.5cm and 3.2 x 5.7 inches, and increases the original up to eight times.

Due to the success of this one, Luckies of London also launched the Deluxe 2.0 version, a more sophisticated and classic-looking projector “inspired by range finder cameras, leather hip flasks and Cuban cigar lounges.” Featuring leather print detail, silver foil accents and a matte laminate finish, this one comes completely assembled and ready-to-use. You can project pics and vids onto a blank tent wall at events, cozy up with the kids in bed and watch cat memes or impress hipster friends with cool visuals at your next party.
