This combined computer-and-desk design borders on extreme excess in execution but sure is pleasing to the eye (of a technology-loving geek). Highlighted with glowing LEDs and surrounded by clear laser-cut acrylic, this desk shows off every one of its internal computing processes. Fans and liquid throughout the interior cool the system – a process on display like the rest of those in the desk.
Each part of this admittedly overkill system (designed and built by the folks of Popular Mechanics) is essentially flayed open, spread like the dissected cadaver of some unfortunate animal in a high school science classroom. The only pieces that come to and extrude from the surface are drives and buttons – those essential interactive elements for users to interface with.
