The Fiction Bookstand from designer Sebastian Bergne is designed to both hold your fiction (and non-fiction) and appear to cause a fictional effect.

The stand, made of a single piece of folded steel, features one protruding segment at the end that makes the book on that end appear to magically float.

The stand can be used either horizontally or vertically, and the effect is different depending on its orientation. In a horizontal position, the end book seems to somehow prop up the rest of the books in mid-air.

In its vertical position, the Fiction Bookstand looks like the top book is levitating, simply waiting for someone to pluck it out of the air and begin reading it. This is a fantastic idea for anyone who tends to have so many stacks of books that they forget which one they wanted to read next: the “floating” book is the first one they’ll reach for.
