Sick of giving up precious space to a cramped kitchen you hardly use? For those of us less inclined to be chefs, this all-in-one stack just may be the best small-space design out there.

Designed by Massimo Facchinetti, this unusual modular kitchen tower takes maximum advantage of vertical space, letting you rotate out what you need when you need it, then flip it back into position when you are finished.

Up high, a microwave and vent hood are available on demand. Lower down, one can find storage, surfaces and a sink. A supplemental seating unit contains additional storage space as well as being a useful stool for solitary diners.

The official name of this unusual kitchen appliance tower is “Verticooking,” appropriately enough. Here’s the description straight from the designer.

Designed by the architect Massimo Facchinetti for CLEI. Verticooking is perfect for all those environments where space must be exploited in every centimeter such as studios, chalets, holiday homes, suites, etc … Verticooking is compact, because in just 70 cm it contains: a refrigerator with a capacity of 118 liters and integrated freezer, a sink, 3 worktops with the possibility of having a folding one (thus doubling the support surface!), a hob with induction plates, a dishwasher, a microwave, a coffee machine, a hood with integrated sanitizing system and a storage unit. Verticooking can be organized because those who buy it can choose which modules they need and where to place them. Verticooking is ecological because thanks to the solar panels positioned on one side.”

About Massimo Facchinetti:

Massimo Facchinetti specializes in environmental design, according to which artifacts are correctly integrated into their context, through the thoughtful use of color and material. The color, in the design of the studio, is considered as relevant as the shape itself, qualifying itself as the “fourth dimension”. Projects always take the end user into consideration, embracing the concepts of design for all and customization.”
