Funhouse Cabin: Six-Sided Structure Stands on Stilts
When you think ‘modular cabin,’ you probably envision one of those flimsy kits that come in boxes at the hardware store which, when assembled, are little more than slightly oversized sheds. ‘Noa,’ a prefab cabin design by Estonian designer Jaanus Orgusaar, most definitely doesn’t fit into that characterization. The six-sided structure seems to change shape depending on the angle from which you view it.
This cabin is based on the shape of a rhombic dodecahedron, which is a complex polyhedron with twelve identical rhombic faces. When built into a three-dimensional shape and placed on three stilts, the design has a funhouse effect, seeming to float on air.
