Yes, ‘mirrors’ was meant literally: a clever little optical illusion allows one lighting fixture to seem like four – each face showing off a different decorative style and representing a particular type of lamp. While the individual pieces are internally consistent from stem to shade, they are definitely best seen in separate slices.

Quarter-cut sides are double-reflect to look like whole fixtures, some of which are clearly designed for hanging while others are made to be set on a table or desk. Is it best suited to a classically-styled living room, an ornate dining room, modern home office or vintage recreation space? Or, perhaps, none of the above, since the overall linear structure of hard-cornered mirror panels distinctively contemporary?

From antique patterns to retro pastiche, there is a side for any interior design scheme – though how it will look when in the ‘wrong’ room might be a cause for concern. Designed by the French group5.5 designers (who are clearly interested in fractions), this item is unfortunately no longer for sale – maybe no one could figure out just where to put it.
