Digital picture frames have been around for quite a while, but for some people they just fail to convey the depth and beauty of the original photos.
Frameworks One is a backlit LED picture frame from Swedish company Frameworks. It marries the past and present by displaying the photos on your phone in an analog form.
The company plans to create an app that will allow you to order any photo from your phone’s photo roll. They print the picture on high-quality paper called Duratrans and send it to you in a protective sleeve.
Photos come in a 10″ X 10″ size only – the perfect size for the sustainably harvested solid wood frame. Each frame is outfitted with a dimmer that lets you adjust the level of brightness. The LEDs are simple to change, so if they ever wear out you’ll just have to switch out the lights rather than buying a whole new frame.
The Frameworks One ran an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign, so at this point it’s unclear if the product will ever be commercially available.
