This one is a tough call in terms of the aesthetic execution – the concept is undoubtedly nifty, however: a solar-powered interior light attached to the inside of your window shades that draws power from the sun being blocked outside. Presumably, this works out well as the solar charge accumulates during the day to be discharged to fuel the light at night.

However, there is some question as to the actual look of these – they are a kind of postmodernist play with silhuette and symbolism that look quite literally like two-dimensional versions of three-dimensional interior lights. While some might find this humorous one could also imagine far more discreet, modernist or otherwise contemporary-looking design variants.
