Poseable, Colorful Wooden Rugs Go From Flat to Funky

The rugs that German designer Elisa Strozyk crafts are gorgeous and colorful, and they are probably unlike any other rugs in the world. The designer makes them with hundreds of triangular pieces of dyed wood.

The triangles are arranged into complex geometric patterns and fitted together. Each piece is able to move on every side, making the rugs very flexible. The movable rugs are reminiscent of the articulated bending wooden snake toys we remember from childhood.

Due to the movable triangles, the rugs can lie flat on the floor or be bunched up into different sculptural shapes. The floor becomes a kind of stage for the fascinating and ever-changing rugs that are as much art as they are floor coverings.
