Pizza Clippers: Excessive or Clever Kitchenware Design?

Those of us who are drawn to creative designs can be suckers for sleek, shiny and multi-purpose tools that we might or might not need. Conceptually, pizza clippers sound like a great idea – they combine two necessary functions of pizza serving and might make life easier. This is often the rub for industrial and other product designers: creating something that stands the test of time as more than a passing fad in household gadgetry.

However, do we really need another device like this cluttering up our kitchen drawers? Does it actually reduce our kitchenware needs or create the need for yet another serving gadget? Perhaps if the design were able to serve more functions or take up less space it would be more convincing. As it stands, though, it is clever but does not seem like a functional necessity.
